Portland Senator, Portland Senator (2011)
Buy Album

The first full length studio album from Portland Senator, is the culmination of a two year long project in which the band wrote, rehearsed, toured, and recorded all while attending their respective universities. Released June 13th, 2011, the album was recorded live with each track being a whole take of each song. The goal was to capture the live energy of the group in a studio setting so that each song retains the honesty it has at a live show. Excited to have their first album complete, the gentelmen of Portland Senator are grateful to have an opportunity to play and share their music with anyone who will listen.

Portland Senator, At the Helm EP (2010)
Listen
"At the Helm" was recorded over December and January of 2009 and 2010 in a bedroom converted into a home recording space. The album was recorded with two condenser mics placed so that they would pick up the "audience's" perception of the live sound of the band. Because of the nature of the recording process, each track was recorded live with no dubs, with vocals boosted through PA system and other instruments run through amps and mics. This allowed for little to zero editing of the tracks, so what you hear is exactly what you would hear from a recording of a live show. The organic recording process yields no production cost, so anyone is able to be streamed for free online. The EP is a collection of songs illustrating images of Americana and nautical themes, and serves as a testament to the group's dedication to honest, live performance.
